Choosing the Right Hang Tag Material for Your Brand
Art paper and ivory board (300–400gsm) are the standard choice for most fashion and apparel brands — they print with excellent color accuracy, accept all surface finishes, and offer the best cost-to-quality ratio. Kraft paper communicates sustainability and works well for organic, artisan, and eco-conscious brands, though color printing is limited by the brown base. Rigid greyboard tags (2–3mm thick) create a premium, weighty feel suited to luxury positioning. PVC is the right choice for brands whose products are exposed to moisture. Leather and metal tags are used when the tag itself is intended to be kept or reused as a brand artifact — common in denim, leather goods, and heritage fashion.
